VETUSTA MORLA CABLE A TIERRA PACKAGING DESIGN
Art direction for "Cable a Tierra," the sixth album by Vetusta Morla. An album composed of 10 songs that narrate their own version of folklore and popular music. For each of the 10 singles, we have created scenes that depict situations and characters belonging to the collective imagination, where folklore, humor, and poetry take center stage. Felt has been used for their formalization, as a reference to traditional folk costumes.
Each single of the album is a piece whose common thread is the union of different particles that, individually, represent disparate situations such as generational betrayal, an omnipresent being, a murderous punctuation mark, or a leap into the void for love. The art consists of a central piece formed by a front cover that connects with the back cover. A tangle of felt pieces emanates from the waist of a girl, resembling fireworks, an internal explosion, ecstasy, or a party. While she holds this madness, she remains stable and grounded.
The pieces will play a key role in the development of the scenography at the concerts as the set design is based on the art direction created for the album.
