Creative project to create a typography. During my stay in the Canary Islands, I conducted a film workshop with David Pantaleón at the Occupational Center for People with Disabilities in Valleseco, where I met Daisy. Our intention was to make a short film with the students, and to start, we asked them to write compositions. Daisy gave us a very special text, but what caught my attention the most was her handwriting. From there, I proposed to her that we work together on designing the poster and credits for the short film, and she agreed.
Daisy has Asperger's syndrome. People with this syndrome have difficulty with communication because language is variable. They do not understand irony or the reason for a particular tone of voice. They are people with highly developed sensory capabilities and have a very good photographic memory.
After having worked on several artistic projects with autistic individuals, I found it interesting to collaborate with her in developing her expertise in calligraphy.
